RickJenn Frenchies

RickJenn Frenchies Health Guarantee

All of our puppies are guaranteed to be in good health and free from visible signs of infection and contagious or communicable diseases when purchased.

Return Within 7 days of Purchase

If your puppy is returned to us for any reason other than an accident within 7 days of purchase we will take the puppy back and refund 100% of the purchase price, minus original deposit.

Lifetime Genetic Health Guarantee

If your puppy is diagnosed by a suitably qualified veterinarian as having a life threatening or seriously disabling defect of certain congenital/genetic origin any time in its life we will refund 100% of the purchase price or pay for treatment, up to the purchase price, at a Veterinary clinic approved by us.  We reserve the right to require a second opinion (before undergoing treatment) from a veterinarian of our choice at our expense. If the puppy is euthanized or in any way disposed of, without a second opinion from the seller’s veterinarian, the buyer waives all rights to a refund.

The most common genetic diseases that we test for in French Bulldogs – Canine Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1), Hyperuricosuria (HUU) and Juvenile Hereditary Cataract (JHC) – are covered by this Guarantee.

What Will Void This Guarantee

This warranty is void in the event of an undetermined or inconclusive diagnosis.  Diseases of the skeletal or nervous systems that are likely environmental in origin (likely to be caused by suboptimal diet, chemicals, injury or trauma) are not covered (see next paragraphs).

French Bulldogs are susceptible to dysplastic hips/elbows, luxating patellas and spinal injuries if care is not taken in raising the puppy properly. Allowing the puppy/dog to become obese, overexertion or lack of exercise, permitting the puppy/dog to jump up to or down from heights taller than the animal itself and excessive climbing/descending flights of stairs are all examples of environmental factors that can contribute to these ailments and should be avoided if at all possible.

If your puppy dies and you request a refund, you must have a necropsy performed by a suitably qualified veterinarian at your expense to determine the cause of death. Refusing to get a necropsy will void this guarantee.  Your puppy will be refunded if the death was caused by a genetic problem or an illness which your puppy had at the time of purchase.  For this reason, it is advisable to have your puppy checked by your own veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase.

For the long-term health of your puppy we recommend a complete and balanced diet with minimal fillers/exposure to food additives, and waiting to spay/neuter until 9 to 12 months of age.  We also recommend minimizing exposure to veterinary drugs (such as flea and heartworm treatments, vaccinations and dewormers) to the minimum dosage and frequency needed to safeguard your pet’s health. Recent studies show that over-vaccination and use of chemical pesticides commonly prescribed for parasite control can contribute to neurological disease, including seizures. If it is determined that use of these chemicals is likely the cause of a debilitating illness in your puppy, this warranty is void.

At any time you are welcome to ask us about natural/raw feeding of your dog, titers vs. vaccinations, and natural methods of parasite control. We are happy to share what we are doing with our own dogs to promote health and longevity and quality of life.

Lifetime Rehoming Guarantee

Your puppy also has a lifetime rehoming guarantee with us, so should you have an inability to care for him/her in the future, you can contact us at any stage of your puppy’s life to return him/her to us.  Under no circumstances must your puppy ever be given up to a shelter or sold without our permission.
